Emily Boden Torres

Climate Movement Law Fellow

Emily Boden Torres (she/her) is in her final year at Lewis & Clark Law School, where she is studying animal and environmental law. She is pursuing a legal career to combat the numerous harms of industrial animal agriculture—to nonhuman animals, people, and the planet. She is passionate about the often-overlooked connection between Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) and the climate crisis. Her interest in environmental advocacy began at Vanderbilt University, where she studied Sociology & Environmental and Sustainability Studies. She is Managing Editor of the Animal Law Review, and Student Chair of the Animals in Agriculture Subcommittee of the ABA’s Animal Law Committee. She is a proud New Yorker, and has a rescue cat named Hoku.
